Photo Pulsing the Night Away!

Celebrate Pride Month with Finger Lakes Pulse while you support two great organizations! The evening will start with music by Encore, who is playing pro-bono in support of Planned Parenthood. At 9pm, there will be a tattoo contest. Between band sets, a top 40 mix will be hosted by Elijahda Warner, who will be joined by some fabulous family-friendly Queen and King Drag Show performers!! The adult Drag Show will begin at 10 pm! Finger Lakes PULSE's mission is to create a community where lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer people are free to be who they are, love who they love, and live without fear of violence, harassment or discrimination. Finger Lakes PULSE was formed in response to the tragic shootings that happened at the Pulse nightclub in Orlando, Florida in June of last year. We hope to not only honor the victims, survivors, and their friends and family; but to organize. Pulse represents the pulse of life, equality, and unity that can advance positive change; a phoenix rising from ashes.

Photo Run Like You're On Fire Tour - Trenton, NJ

5K Fun Run with SSG (Ret.) Bobby Henline, fundraiser to benefit Boot Campaign and Retrieving Freedom. Wounded Veteran and Comedian, Bobby last served with the 82nd Airborne Division. He spent thirteen years in the Army, completing 4 tours. While on his 4th tour in Iraq, 3 weeks after his arrival, an IED exploded under his Humvee – April 7, 2007 is a day he will never forget. The 4 soldiers with him were killed. As Henline stumbled out of the wreck, a human torch, he was extinguished by the soldier he had replaced in the Humvee. With burns covering almost 40% of his body, fractured bones in his face, and his head burned to the skull, Henline was put into a medically induced coma for 2 weeks and was flown back to the states. During his initial six-month hospital stay, Bobby remained upbeat, positive, and relied on humor to get him through each day.

(21+ only) The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain Tuesday, August 15 at 7pm MEET: Prohibition River, 82 Main St., Nyack Huckleberry Finn has been taken in by Widow Douglas and her sister, who intend to teach him religion and proper manners. He soon sets off on an adventure to help the widow's slave, Jim, escape up the Mississippi to the free states. Recognized as 1 of the 20th century’s preeminent political philosophers and historian of ideas, the polymathic Isaiah Berlin was a celebrated British essayist, raconteur and scholar. An alumnus of Oxford University’s Corpus Christi College, Berlin was most famous for his influential lecture and paper “Two Concepts of Liberty,” in which he explored pluralism. Roger Cohen, noted journalist and columnist for The New York Times, will speak on the importance of Berlin’s work and ideas in a time of growing intolerance.
